A Week Review via Instagram

Betty takes some great photos & using the app Instagram is my new favorite way to edit them!  Check out these cute photos I took.  It helps that I have some really great models!

Look closely at this one...all my loves in a row...Law, Pippa (both on my lap), Vivi, Doc, Howie.
And yes...her tongue is almost always out...

If you haven't already embraced Instagram, I would highly suggest it!!

Hope you're all had a great week!!

Where Does the Time Go?

It's been six years....six.  I can't believe it.  Did you know every six years the date falls on the same day of the week?  It was a Saturday, it was sunny & warm--just like today.  But instead of focusing on the sad times, I want to focus on the good times.  The happy times!  That's how I remember my Lil' Dude most often anyway!

So with that being said...
Oliver-We miss you every day!  You still make us smile when we think of the funny things you did (like crash through the living room window-screen) & we we thank you so much for bringing Howard, Doc & Vivian into our lives...we KNOW you had everything to do with that!  You would have LOVED being a big brother!  Have fun with Sassy on the Bridge and feel free to visit us in our dreams!  Love-Momma & Daddy

Wordless Wednesday

Well kinda wordless...we all know I can't just post a photo without words...I've tried...

Vivi's hair is truly EVERYWHERE!
As I was shutting the hatchback of my car I saw this.  :0)  I bet other dog owners can relate!

Well I'm not a millionaire...

Like a few others out there, I had hoped to be part of the Mega Millions jackpot on Friday.  I had such grand plans with those dollars...but alas, those plans will have to wait until next time I guess.

On Saturday night I wrote out a great blog post...including videos & photos...but this site apparently did not save it...grrrrr....not happy.  So I'll try to remember what I said last night...I know, I know, it was only last night, sad but some things I just don't remember.

For those that have asked, Pippa (our new kitten), is fitting in great!  So much better than we had ever hoped.  After our first night together, I never thought getting along was going to happen.  Doc, my most mellow fellow, was surprisingly the worst!

The next morning, I sat down all the animals & said, "ok, we're going to get along!"  I took about 2 hours & just made them become friends.  Guess it worked!  I forget how funny kitten can be.  It's been so long since I had a kitten in my life.

She carries around anything she can in her mouth...socks, toys, bottle caps...she doesn't care, she'll move it.  She plays with both cat & dog toys...and like I said, socks.  I will throw socks down to the basement to bring to the laundry & then I'll find them in the kitchen.  She's a nut!
Pippa

Law is Pippa's favorite "friend" to attack.  Poor Law.  He puts up with her, but will put her in her place as well.  It's kinda funny though...Law will just be walking by & Pippa will jump on his back as he's walking by & Law is like..."aggghhh Pippa!"

Here are some fun photos I took with my beloved Betty (iPhone).  There are so many great photo apps on there to make photos even more fun.  It does help that I have great models!

I hope you all had a great weekend!  I did some cleaning & sewing (what else is new right--sorry, I love to sew!).  Steve painted our bathroom with the help of his mom!  (Thank you both so much!!)  Weather was NOTHING like they promised...err...predicted, but today was better than yesterday & it's still better than it should be this time of year so I'm not complaining (too loudly).

Have a great week!

Hello??? Is this thing still on???

Oh my friends...so nice to see you again!  I can't believe April is right around the corner & I haven't blogged in (GASP!!) almost months...plural...ugg.  It's not that I didn't want to, just didn't have a whole lot exciting going on here....I mean, is pneumonia all that exciting?  (it's not)

Momma!  We have lots to tell our friends!  Like remember that time we....

Or what about that time we....
Or what about when Pippa did...
Or when you made these...
Ok, ok...I guess we had a lot going on huh?  :0)  I do have some true updates to share, but I'm going to milk those ideas for new blog posts...see, I already have PLANS for the next blog posts!!!  Yay!

I thank you all for not giving up on me/the blog!  Hope you are all doing well!

Sharp, Soft & Pretty!

Ok you guys, we have some things to show you!
Uh, yeah guys we do!
On Saturday, we woke up & went outside & there were all these pretty white things on the branches & stuff!  We had momma take some photos!
This one is momma's favorite...she said it looks like an angel!
The white things are what momma called frost & they were not sharp at all.  Pretty huh?

Later that day, momma & daddy left & came home with this fuzzball!
She's really wittle & I didn't even realize she was next to me.
Momma & Daddy are calling her Pippa...I have other names for her....
It's funny how some pretty things can be sharp (looking) & some pretty things can be soft (& fluffy).  Do you think so too?

Heartache, Tears, Snuggles & Licks

It's with a broken heart I write today's post.  Last week my 17 1/2 year old kitty, Sassy, went to the (Rainbow) Bridge.
It was a very hard decision to make & I still can't believe she's not here anymore.  I chose to have it done at home, which is something I will never, ever regret.  It was peaceful & my last 30 minutes with her were in my arms & not in a car.  My last vision of her is one I will never forget of course, but I'm so happy it was here, where she was comfortable & with people who loved her.

Steve & my mom both were both here to also say goodbye.  Sassy lived with me for 6 years at my parents' house before Steve & I got married.
Steve surprised me with her at the house after we returned from our honeymoon...we had agreed neither of us were bringing any animals to our house.  I was devastated at the time, but Steve knew how much she meant to me & arranged for her to be there when we got home!  I'm so glad he did that...I can't imagine not having the last 11 years with her!

Not having her here is really weird & still surreal.  It's crazy to realize something so small, her nickname was "Peanut" because she was always so petite, had such a huge impact in our home/pack.  All the bullies knew better than to mess with her & if Sassy wanted to sleep on my lap, she'd move the bullies out of the way.
(I took this photo one day when I was working at home, all the animals were in a row, w/Sassy on my lap.  From closest to farthest...Law, Howie, Sassy, Vivi & Doc.  I love this photo.)

The bullies knew something was up for a few days...probably because I'd cry all the time.  They were in their kennels when we had the vet come & they were silent, completely silent.  So unlike them when a visitor comes to the house.  It's almost like they were paying their respects to her as well.

Law is missing his bestie & snuggle partner.  He's been my velcro kitty since it happened & I'm ok with that.  We're here for each other.  He even slept at my head that first night...just like Sassy would.  That made me smile...and cry.

I miss my getting ready in the morning partner, she would sit on the sink & drink water from the faucet.  Some mornings she'd jump up & give me a hug or want me to do her "eye makeup."
I miss my bedtime hand warmer...she'd start out sleeping on my hand...I have scars to prove it & am so happy to have them.  I miss my crabby little peanut girl, always telling you what was on her mind (hence her name)...that never went away.
I miss my sewing partner...she oversaw everything I made & made sure to help me whenever I needed it.
I miss everything about her...I had her for nearly half my life, that's a long time.  It's still just so weird.  I know I didn't write about her (or Law for that matter) much,
but I've had cats since I was 5-years-old & Sassy was the one I've had the longest...so really I'm a cat person first, bully momma 2nd...the bullies just get all the blog press.

Anyway, I wanted to give Sassy the blog press she deserved.
Miss you baby girl.

PS-The day it happened, I needed to get out of the house.  I got into my car & saw I had some white stuff on my vest.  When I looked down to brush it away, I saw this:
I gasped, started to cry & said, "she made it to the bridge.  She's with Ollie now."
