On November 27, 2001 (11 years ago to the day) I almost lost my best friend. He collapsed of heat stroke...during a snow storm...in November...that's right, heat stroke...we joke he's a medical oddity. But 11 years ago tonight, in the ER, there was no joking going on.
He was in the hospital for a week. There were many follow up appointments with doctors for weeks after. It was a very scary time.
You just never know what each day brings. So I'm thankful, so very thankful to still have my bestie with me!
Love you babe!!

So I've Been Thinking...
I know I haven't been a good blogger lately...ok more like the last two years...not good in the "haven't blogged" way. It may not seem like it, but it does bother me that I don't blog like I used to. I could...errr...have used the excuse that life has gotten in the way. It's true! I am not sure where this past year went! I mean can you believe it's the end of November already?!!
While life has gotten in the way of blogging, I have made time for sewing, dog showing, general life stuff & of course funny bully stories....I haven't shared that with you...and it bothers me. I guess I feel like I started this blog to tell you about my dogs, so I don't think you'd want to hear about my other stuff.
So I was thinking the other day maybe to just hang up my blogging hat, maybe even the website--because I've also dropped the ball there too. I was thinking, once Vivi gets her Grand Championship will I keep the site? I won't have any more show photos/tales to share. But then I remembered WHY I started this site/blog...it wasn't because I was showing a dog...it was because I had a dog...or 3. :0)
So it hit me while I was blow-drying my hair...you know that's when ALL my A-HA moments happen...this is MY site. MY blog. If I wanted to post a funny, cute, breathtaking (of course) photo of my dog, I should.
Regardless of what I post, I'm excited to get back to blogging! Get back to sharing with you my bullies, their stories (both good & bad) & always cute photos!
I thank those of you who have stayed on thinking I may post again...well here we go my friends, here we go!!
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!!
Love-
Jen

If I wanted to blog about a sewing project, I should.
If I wanted to brag about how great Vivi did at a show,
or how Howie let me cut his nails without much fighting, I should!!
And even if I wanted to share some magical memories, I should!!!!
Basically, my A-HA moment reminded me this is MY site/blog. I can post about anything. Right? Right! So I will! Some of my favorite posts in this blog are my very honest--can you believe my dog did THAT?!--posts. While sometimes funny, most times educational (at some level anyway) & that's something I can be proud of. Sewing is a newer passion of mine, so you may be bored with those posts, but maybe not? Maybe you all will want to sew after those...hehehehehe!! Of course Disney is always in my head, so maybe somedays you'll hear about that.Regardless of what I post, I'm excited to get back to blogging! Get back to sharing with you my bullies, their stories (both good & bad) & always cute photos!

We've Missed You Too!!!
Ok, seriously...how the hell is it September?! Sorry to be so blunt about it, but how fast time goes by makes me sad. I love summer--especially this summer!! Record setting heat anyone?? The leaves are already coming down in our yard!!! Noooo!!! Maybe it's only because it's been so dry--yes, yes, I'm in denial!
This summer sewing & dog shows have kept me very busy! With the heat I've had a lot of orders for the cool collars I make & this year I started making cool jackets too.
They have been very popular! I was at a show in June & I looked around & there were 7 dogs with my products on! How "cool" is that?! I have had a lot of people ask if they work....well, I can tell you first hand that yes! They worked on Doc! Doc had an incident one hot night & he really scared me (panting, wouldn't move, wouldn't drink water) & when we got him inside, I immediately grabbed the jacket, ran it under cold water & put the jacket on him & within minutes he was no longer panting!!! I was shocked how fast it worked on him!
Here is a photo from the show Vivi & I were at last weekend in Lake Elmo, MN. Thanks Kym for the photo! We didn't do anything, but she sure is cute isn't she??

Let's see, what else to tell you....hmmm...Howie decided the other day to take a nap with a piggy...what a cutie!
Doc can't believe summer is over either!! He's just rolling around thinking about it!
Law sends kitty prayers to all of you!
And Pippa sends kisses...errr...bites!
We all hope your summer went as well as yours & you enjoyed yourselves!!

How Do I Even Tell You This...
I still don't believe it myself, so I'm having a hard time preparing this post. But you guys....on Saturday, Vivi WON IN FARGO!!!! This win gave her the 2nd major win she needed & therefore she earned her AKC Championship!!! OMG!!!
I don't have any (clear) photos to show you, but I do have a video to share. It's eleven short videos of our Open Class & Winner's Bitch Class & win. My awesome friend & travel partner, Kristen, took the videos for me & I'm so very glad to have them...watching them over & over & over again almost makes me believe it!! Ha!!
On Sunday, I showed Vivi as a "special," meaning since she is now a Champion she is no longer shown in the regular classes, but now in the Best of Breed class. A few years ago, AKC implemented a Grand Champion title for dogs that have already gotten their Championship....so that's what Vivi could try for next.
For a Grand CH, you need more points & more majors & you have to beat other specials....and on Sunday, Vivi got Best of Opposite (Best of Breed was a boy dog, so the judge needed to select a girl dog in the Best of Breed class--there was the Winner's Bitch, another special girl & Vivi)! That placement got Vivi a 5 point major towards her Grand Championship!!! Kinda crazy to think, considering how long it took to get her first & second major for her regular championship! But we'll take it! Hahahaha!!
Here is that win photo:
Soon I will give you more details on the entire weekend!! It was a lot of fun...for more than the obvious reason! :0)
Hope all of your weekends was just as great as mine!
